Unnecessary. If you want to see others' ping you would most likely go through the trouble of getting mods or a client. Most players without this feature usually don't care about others' ping, are not aware it's a feature, are comfortable with the ping bars or are new players who are still...

why only the sword? Why not other items or weapons? And having a bed is already a 2nd chance so maybe as a rotational mode it would be fun. I see situations where this could help but every other time when you have a bed I don't see why you would always buy an iron sword or a diamond sword...
