How do you defend your bed on bedwars?

If I'm playing solos usually I like to just rush and put 1 layer of wool, but if I'm doubles or squads, my teammates do 1 layer of clay and 1 of wool.

I usually don't defend while taking out my first rush, but if I die after or while completing my first rush , I put the cliched 16 wood 10 wool defense

I just use clay endstone or planks to def with a another wool toping
